Bringing in Fresh Blood

Nothing drives me nuts more than counseling with someone who’s talking about the same two or three legs they’ve been talking about for the last four years.

They talk about how great these people are and what their potential is.  I get that, because I’ve been hearing it for years.  But potential untapped is not better than no potential.   These people are using the potential of a few people as an excuse for not doing any new recruiting.  They’re treading water.  They’re comfortable.

You have to get them uncomfortable..

And that happens when they see you bringing in new people who are breaking ranks.  Instead of congregating together at every event commiserating on how static things are, you want them to get a little freaked out by the new people passing them by.  If you model the behavior of recruiting for your team, your team will recruit a whole lot better.

So what about you?  Are you still trying to manage the same two or three people, or are you still bringing in some fresh blood?

So true. And yet most of us have done this at one point or another. It is a question of Network Marketing maturity. Once we realize the truth of our business, that a big part of ” the work ” of our business is in creating new energy (new people and new people breaking ranks) our business will continue to thrive. Thanks for the reminder. And if you’re new, take this to heart and learn from the wisdom of the experienced. You’ll be glad you did.

  2. I use the analogy that you can’t raise the dead in MLM. They have to resurrect themselves. And the best way to do that is to bring in fresh blood that bypasses them, leaving them with no excuses.

Same principle, though, and so true.

  3. I used to do that, and it was the stupidest thing in the world to do. We get paid to do really do 2 things in this industry prospect & retail. Even if you’re a top income earner, if you’re not sharing your opportunity with others everyday – you’re missing out.

  4. People need to get out of their comfort zone. I know it can be uncomfortable at first, but it’s neccessary if you want to bring in new people and build a successful business. JL

  5. Been there did that a few years back. Income was nearly 6 figures & I managed to keep the income for 7 years…then it happened….no matter how much I preached do what I did, the group didn’t & eventually people get tired no matter how good the environment is. Income dropped by 2/3rds. Learned the lesson.

Jumped in on the launch of a new program & now have added 7 people in the last 6 weeks & the organization has grown to over 60 people. Things are smoking all thanks to that e word…example.

  6. I learned the hard way that Success is a numbers game. The more you increase the numbers the more your chances of success.

  7. WOW! That’s exactly our situation right now.
I had his feeling in the back of my mind and now reading this post is like confirmation and the way forward!!!

  8. Being a soldier in my company the only thing I can deal with is trying to recruit new members. Many of my sponsors have fallen, have stopped using the products or no longer continue the business. My focus is always on to new recruits, the problem is that I can not get new blood, as you say in your book, I just recruted people like me, I can not get new blood into the business, we are always trying to keep in (I think you sound like the story haha). If I could get new blood, surely everything would change. But keep trying! I do not want to sound like a crybaby, but I want to share with you some thoughts, one day will change, I am working in that.

  9. Yep. The solution is that easy!! Thanks for the reminder. A dangerous place that “comfort zone”
