Facing Down Fear of Rejection

You’re afraid to call.  You’re afraid to bring it up in person.  You’re afraid to approach those really powerful prospects on your candidate list.

Why?

Because they might reject you.  BOOM!

So what?

I mean really.  So what?  Here’s the most fascinating thing about rejection in network marketing:  If you’re not getting some rejection, you’re not really doing your job.

Here’s why:  Our business is perfect for everybody.  But everybody is not perfect for our business.  Not everyone is willing to do the work, or willing to give up watching five hours of television nightly.

If someone tells me they’ve never been rejected and that every single person they’ve talked to has joined their business, it reveals something important.

It means they are only talking to the “safe” people.  The best analogy comes to us from the sport of baseball.  If a player steals 15 out of 15 bases, he’s not considered a good base stealer.  It means he takes the base when a pitcher gives it to him.  A good base stealer would be someone who steals 15 out of 19.  The fact that he is getting caught sometimes shows he is really in the game, and attempting to do it at a high level.

Are you in the game with your network marketing business and attempting to do it at a high level?

If you are, then you should be getting some rejection.  Now if you’re getting too much – let’s say you approach ten people and all ten reject you – then you need to work on your skills.  Talk to your sponsorship line and do some role playing.   Don’t stop or give up just because you face some rejection.  That simply means you’re in the game, doing something at a high level.

  1. gets some rejection in selling, in MLM Everyone
and sometimes in his life, so don’t take it personally
    and move on.

as I can tell when I’m in a pyramid or MLM business?
with the latest company to enter the product delivered after you have entered the 31 people under me.
What makes me dudadr if this is a pyramid scheme
I would like to give me your opinion
    Blessings!

  3. Well Randy,

I just have to reject the idea that you have to get rejected. Rather than going to get those 100 no’s to get only 1 yes, just do what the Lexus-guys are doing. Hit the target with just 3,4 defects per 1000.000 opportunities. How ? Do “DMAIC”-process to massproduce successfull leads like you would make T-model Fords. Never get rejection in your fsce like you used to. Here goes the DMAIC-process: DEFINE who is a prospect with a defining question like: people nowadays want a secure income, you have that in your job ? MEASURE HOW intrested the individual is towards going to business, just ask: would you have 5 hours per week to get a 2.nd paycheck once a month?. ANALYZE is or isn’t she/he willing to do 5 hours a week of WORK to get that extra paycheck. If not, drop him for now! IMPROVE the prospect’ s chances of hitting it big by presenting how in 20 minutes your company will earn money. CONTROL that everybody does this process. Now, you are a leader. Do we have to rewiew this Lean Six Sigma process ?

  4. Thank you Randy for your commitment to help me in my bizness. i have a little challenge. I send text messages, inviting some friends to attend a business seminar. they don’t show up, they don’t show any sign of interest. not even a call or response of any kind. what is really the problem? what is it that am not getting right? please help

    1. I can tell you that sending text messages or emails to invite someone to a business presentation is not going to work. Pick up the phone and call them.

    2. Yeah, call them, with your goal in your head 😉

There are possibilities of contacting people via texts. Its easy to crate them AND easy to REJECT them too! Plus you lost your personal ‘power’ this way. We should use these methods in the business, but for keeping the contact or we have to compose them in VERY cool ways.

  5. Mr Randy, you are great and i,m agreed with you.great idea from you, I,m Javed Iqbal Malik working with Tiens.
