Be Your Biggest Fan

Let’s be real: The Network Marketing business isn’t easy. It’s actually pretty simple, but it’s not easy.

We don’t have a boss that gives us a raise and often don’t even have a sponsor who will give us praise. We have to summon the courage to pick up the phone and call prospects. We have to get into the car and drive to homes of people we don’t know. We have to take long plane rides to work with long distance lines. And maybe worst of all, we have to face our fears…

Fear of rejection, fear of failure, even fear of success. But we do it. Every week.

We look for support where we can; feed our minds with positive programming, and hang around positive people. But when it’s time to pick up the phone, it’s only you. Which is why we need the most important thing:

Self-belief.

You have to have self-validation and self-reinforcement. No one can do that for you. Outside sources can inspire you, but only you can motivate you.

You have to be your biggest fan. Boom the boom sticks, wave the terrible towels, wear the rally caps, or any of the other crazy things sports fans do to cheer on their favorite teams and athletes. You have to cheer on you.

So when it comes to crunch time, please remember a couple things…

The work you do matters. It matters to you, because you’re building self-discipline. You’re developing character and new skills that will help you in all areas of your life, both professional and personal. It matters because you care enough about yourself to challenge yourself, to refuse mediocrity and go after what you want in life.

It matters to the people you bring into your business. The customers who are helped by your products and the team members who are building their dreams. They won’t all lose 80 pounds, look like Miss America or cure an incurable disease. They won’t all drive bonus cars, cash huge bonus checks, or become millionaires. But their lives will be better, because you gave them the opportunity.

You give people their dreams back. And that is not an insignificant thing. Even better, you give them a vehicle to go after those dreams.

Whether they want freedom or security, a new Lamborghini or to build an orphanage –  you give them a real shot at doing that. And that’s why you’re special. That’s why you’re amazing. Because you’re not only a dreamer, you’re a doer. An entrepreneur, and entrepreneurs are the people that drive the free enterprise system, create innovations, build value, and create wealth.

So take a minute today, glance at your dream board and remember why you do what you do. Then get in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eye, and say, “Congratulations. Thanks for being amazing.”
