The Role of Leadership

So over the last few days we’ve talked about your role as a teacher and a student.  That leads us to the next level: leadership.

Here’s probably the most important thing you should know about leadership:  There are two kinds of leaders…

Leaders who lead followers.  And leaders who lead leaders.

So which one are you?

  1. Randy, Your teachings are great! I love them. However, when you send something short with your url, I find most of them go to my spam because there are hackers out there who are sending emails similar to your short url’s. FYI

  2. Right now I run my Telemarketingcompany, so I do not do much in MLM right now, although I’m trying. But as an answer to your question, I know what exites me most, and give me new ideas and passion, and that is to lead leaders. I feel energi comming into me just by thinking of it.

    It reminds me of John Maxwell Law of the Lid principle, which says that “Your leadership ability determines personal and organizational level of effectiveness..” and it determines who you attract and who’s following you.

    So my answer is that I’m transitioning from teacher and leader of followers, to a leader of leaders.

    A good leader has to qualify leaders for to continue his dotrine after him.
    I am n’t leaders who lead followers who called “yes meners”

    Here are my thoughts concerning your question.

    True leaders will have followers not just to have them but to build those followers into Leaders.
    Some will remain a follower simply because they are comfortable and have no desire to become a leader.
    When a Leader helps someone through the transition from following to leading he/she can be assured they are walking the right path.

    A good sign to know if you are a leader is simply being able to turn around and see if anyone is following.

    In this industry the only way to have life long success, for that matter in anything, is to be able to build away from you.
    The only way to be able to accomplish that is to build up others so they too will have success, whether you are around them or NOT.

    A leader is an intelligent follower.

    Intelligence is the ability to analyse, think quickly and act after convincing yourself, that what you about to do is mentally finished before you make the first move.

  8. First transform yourself into true leader and lead a team of follwers. Then one by one transform the team into leaders and lead the team of leaders … Here comes the stability

  9. The clock is ticking so I don’t have the luxury of babysitting. It is a necessity to use the faster model to success (leaders who lead leaders) rather than using the broken standard model (leaders who lead followers). This definitely requires a new paradigm shift for many. I must work smart not harder.

    As I see it, my objective is to train leaders so I can go on vacation for as long as I want and still earn the money/perks and respect. Certainly, I am not the issue here. I let ME get out of way so my leaders can perform as LEADERS!

  12. This is the first of your articles I have read. Fortunately it was short – not too hard to digest. 🙂

    Another way to seperate the two kinds of leaders would be “those who dictate” (creating obedient followers who require constant direction) and “those who inspire and develop” (encouraging others to become leaders capable of making decisions on their own.)

  13. My understanding of leadership is rather simple.
    The best way for leadership is to be the leader of my own life.
    How to know and to understand this leadership?
    Just try to live, making actions and errors along with their corrections and improvement of my life.

  14. That is a very good question and I shall ponder on it! I do wonder about that in MLM because in some ways we need people to be very good followers so that they keep to the system and don’t all lead with their own. On the other hand in my experience it takes good leadership to keep people on track with the system.
