7 Laws of MLM Success
Here’s an interesting post today. No long lesson, but some things that have been bouncing around in my brain all week. I believe these seven things are critical foundational principles of what we do.
1) Building long distance isn’t an expense, it’s an investment. The expensive thing is not doing it. You don’t have a viable business until it is diversified in many different markets.
2) People don’t expect you to be perfect, but they expect you to be pursuing excellence. If you model that, they’ll want to run with you.
3) Everyone has a sponsor that thought highly of you. Now your job is to think highly of yourself and pay it forward to someone else.
4) People don’t join our business because of information. If it was that simple, all we would have to do would be handing out DVDs at the mall. They join because they believe in you as a partner for their success.
5) People don’t stay in just because they like the products or are even making money. What keeps people in the business is when they see you working down in their group, partnering with them for success.
6) When your dream is bold enough and real to you, outside factors no longer matter. But you are surrounded by people that give you permission to stay where you are. So you must feed your dream daily.
7) The business is not easy; it is not supposed to be. If it was, there would be no one left to work the jobs. But the business is simple. And the simpler you keep it, the faster you will duplicate. Millions of jobs are being eliminated today. So stay true to a simple duplicable system, build your way out of your job, and leave it for someone that doesn’t have a dream.

To me investments are expenses.
Expense are just money you spend. Investments bring a return on them.

I take these 7 laws to heart because they resonate with me and are the reasons why I’m doing what I’m doing today. I’ll continue to live with them. Thanks for the reminder, as always!
“Ready…Aim…BLAME!!!” This is the law many follow …blame the economy, blame their negative friends and family and eventually end up procrastinating their progress. Well, not anymore, now it’s “Ready….Aim…ACT!”.

Little wonder that with all of the requirements lying outside of the typical person’s ability – not to mention, comfort zone – MLM works only for a very small minority. The time has come for lowering the bar toward more realistic thinking and modest paychecks distributed over a wider base of participants vs “j.o.b. replacement” income to those who are genetically cut out to succeed at playing this crazy game.
I’m sorry – I wouldn’t play the game if the reward I was going for was an average life with an average income.
MLM works for those who work at it enough to crack the code.
All developmental psychologists suggest it takes 5-10 years to go thru a stage of development.
Reading Robert Kyosaki… to move from a job, to small business, to big business mentality each take 5-10 years.
So you HAVE to give 5-10 years to shift mentaility – moving from slave, to boss, and then to leader. From dependent, to co-dependent, to independent, to the cream of empwowering independence.
Most folks quit less than a year in, yet haven’t done the mentla shifts required to make the profound financial shift from swapping time for money, to owning more of your life rather than being dependent, and then to being smart and creating businesses that develop that passive income.
For most CONSCIOUSLY working on this – making all the mistakes needed to learn it would take 15 years on determined effort.
5 for shift from job to small business
5 for shift from small business to big business
5 for shift from residual to passive income
Very few have the genetics to play this crazy game. But some people have the determination, the vision and the willingness to take the action required to make those shifts.
As Richard Brokke says “I CHANGED EVERYTHING” in order to become successful – the way he dressed, spoke, thought, his friends, what he read, what he did, how he did things…
And he was a chicken factory worker!!!!
If you want to be average – it’s truly your choice. DOn’t blame the system, or try to get the system to lower itself to your level… it’s designed like this to pull people out of the slums, not lower the stars to dance in the fields wishing for more freedom. No one could see them that way. They HAVE to be far up in the sky – to give us something to look up to- that pulls us beyond out current reality out of mundane habitude of mediocre comfort zones that keep up depressed, useless and poor.

Very astute… I got as much value out of this comment as I did from the original post.
I’ve often heard it said that network marketing is “a personal development program with a pay plan”, but this comment brings into focus an important concept – the personal development and pay are proportional. There is no free lunch. To realize exceptional income, one must become an exceptional person. For most of us who begin the journey as *not* exceptional, it’s reasonable to expect the investment of time to be measured in years, not months or weeks.
A virtue of our industry is that we can move along the path of personal development far faster than in the corporate world, and without the staggering costs often involved in “conventional” entrepreneurship.
Thanks also for the reminder about the story of Richard Brooke. There is much to be learned from his journey.

awsome! I shared the 7 laws in a weekly meeting that I had today with a group of my organization. They found it great too and the feedback was really amazing.
But again here is what I found. When I was going to discuss the 7 laws with them I realized that the first law is a far cry compared to the other 6. It is like the market diversification thing has nothig to do with the other 6 in a sense that it is merely a technique of developing your organization but the other 6 are all about who should I be. There is a spirit in the last six which is not in the first one. It may look funny the way I am saying spirit but this i what I found out about the 7 law. I am wondering if it is just an accident or there is a subtle classification among the 7 law. However, thanks so much for the great job you are doing.

Thank you Randy for changing my life!! I met you and mlm almost a year ago, and my life has changed!!! I’ve learnt that being in mlm is that you must keep learning and exploring every day to be a better person, not only a better business man/woman so you can transmit it to your people and make them follow you, keep in. Your number 2 shows me that it’s true, and it might be one of the hardest bust funniest part of this business!!

I am thinking of building a long distance leg and I am aware that it will cost me a lot, but I know it would also mean a potential source of residual income in the next few years. I believe that people stay in the business because of the relationship that we have built with them. If they are happy with our Leadership, they will follow us. So, as Leader, we try should try to be more competent, be trustworthy, maintain our integrity and credibility and let’s walk our talk.

If you are in uncomfortable position and have got no money to go out from that point, you would have to take the business loans. Because that should aid you definitely. I get college loan every time I need and feel myself fine because of this.
