Memes and Why People Do What They Do
If you were watching my streaming webcast last night, or followed my work for any period of time, then you know about memetics, or the science of memes.
Memes are actually mind viruses, just like you can get on your computer. And they parasitize the host and cause him or her to replicate the virus.
Memes are a fascinating thing to study, particularly for those of us in network marketing, because so much of recruiting, duplication and leadership development is based upon why people do the things they do.
So if you want a crash course that can help you become waaaay more effective, there are two books you should get right away.
First is Virus of the Mind: The new Science of the Meme from my friend Richard Brodie.
And #2 is a follow up book, The Meme Machine by Susan Blackmore.
Read them and you’ll have a whole new understanding about why your prospects, distributors and customers react the way they do. You’ll really increase the effectiveness of your presentations, and develop a lot more leaders on your team.
BTW, some great comments from you guys on the objections you face. I’ll start responding with some information on how to best deal with them soon. I’m off to Australia now. I’ll check in on the other side.
