Investing in Your Marketing
Two posts ago, I asked you to invest in growing your business. And there were four specific areas. Let’s explore each of them in turn:
The first area I mentioned was marketing materials. This would include all the CDs, DVDs, brochures, magazines etc that you use with prospects in the recruiting and follow up process. Having a good inventory of these is vital to growing your business. That’s why we call it network MARKETING.
Marketing is what causes growth to happen. So you need to have enough stock of materials to keep the business moving forward. And they need to be professional…
Yes I know your laptop has a CD and DVD burner and there are color copiers available everywhere. But that doesn’t mean you should be using them. The disc you give someone should have the name of your company on it, not SONY or Panasonic. No candidate should take you seriously if you don’t honor copyrights and don’t provide them with professionally packaged materials.
You need to be prepared with these items as well. That means you always have prospecting items handy in your purse, briefcase or car when you come across someone sharp. And you always have follow-up packets for every candidate you invite to an event.
So how are you in these areas? Do you invest in your business or expect your sponsor to provide for you? Do you honor copyrights? If I meet you at the movies and we strike up a conversation, will you have your recruiting materials readily available?
Give yourself a report card, and next post we’ll look at the second are to invest in your business.

Excellent message. Professional
Excellent message. I am stepping it up… thanks.
In times past I have been caught out without even a business card when out and about but never again. Not only does being prepared give you the tools to hand out, I find it also puts you in the right frame of mind, like a reminder to keep eyes and ears open.
3,000 hits so far and one comment. Fess up guys!

LOL don’t sweat the small stuff 🙂
Yes, I have a newspaper that the company provides.
LOL.
I am still trying to figured out the first step:How to start a conversation and how to introduce my solution if need it.
Great topic, Randy — and actually one I was discussing with one of my leaders today. Her question was this, “I have this guy in my downline who has asked not once but twice now if I’ll ‘mail’ him marketing materials so he doesn’t have to purchase in the min. packaged quantities. What do you think?”
My reply was basically what you’ve said above.
It will be interesting to read what others have to offer on the topic.
I totally agree – we are in network Marketing. Marketing is the key in this business because no one will know we are here if we don’t let people know!
Being in a new company from the US, there aren’t any promotional materials produced by the company for our Japanese market. I also used to hope that my uplines will create something professional so we can promote it.
Then I realized that leaders don’t wait for others – they lead the way – and I can be the one to step up and be the leader myself! We are not appointed in this business – we develop into a leader ourselves. Duh… but it was an aha moment for me who always thought I will be the best number 2 person.
Marketing materials don’t have to cost too much and as long as it is professional and legal in the market, it is better to make it and use it massively rather than wait until the “perfect” material is created.
We just recently created a short invitation film clip in Japanese and it’s been going out like hotcakes to invite more people to take a look at our business. Very exciting!
I look forward to reading your next blog on this topic.
I agree I’ve done better by investing some $$ into my Marketing materials and
I felt more confident with some materials being able to hand out to the prospects
Hello Randy,
I have been using a multiple website approach to promoting the company. Soon a New Celebrity Life Style and Sales Guru, will be joining the Company!
It did cross my mind it could be You? Perhaps this new person (TR maybe?)
Will introduce marketing materials of the kind you mention in this post.
Ahhhh, no.

Yes, that´s really the thing: What energy are you throwing out into the universe.
To copy CD, DVD and folders is really to steal it and don´t respect the work of other people, in this case the producer of this stuff. And maybe this will fall back to you.
And be honest: to copy this things is just for poor students but not for a real business man or woman.
So for me it is an very important thing to invest in buying this stuff and having it always around me. So I can´t missing any good prospect.
Best greetings from Austria
Volker Schaefer
P.S.: For an example: I recommend the DVD “Check Out the Biz” from Randy Gage which works great even in a country like Austria where german is the first language.
Well let’s put it this way.. I no longer wear a nutty button on every outfit I go out in, leave a paper trail everywhere I go or accost people with my elevator pitch (Thank goodness I’ve moved on from that. We were trained to do all of those things in my 1st company) On a bright note I learned ninja marketing in the field and it’s a great skill to have.
Now I am ‘open for business’ and ready to connect with people to build a relationship and attract them into both my online and offline world.
Best of both worlds lol….
You are right and we do have several items of marketing materials on hand both produce by the company and senior upline leaders. And one thing important also be a produce of your products.
Marcel
Totally immune.
Our company has taken care of the marketing materials to which I am very grateful. I finally figured out a way to carry them in my purse so they look pristine when I reach for them. If we meet at the movies and strike up a conversation I am ready.
Маркетинговые материалы-это топливо для бизнеса.Они очень важны.
