Improving at What You Do

I’ll tell you something I have learned in business, softball, music, and just about anything I’ve ever done.  Including and especially network marketing.  It’s this:

You can’t get better and look good at the same time!

You need to practice.  Apply things you learn in practice.  And then practice more.  Simple stuff.  But not everyone is willing to do what this takes.  They “try” things, don’t do great, and then they quit.

The successful people in our profession stayed around.  Faced their fears, and got better.

Your first approaches to candidates aren’t very tight.  They’re not supposed to be.  Your first presentations are horrible.  They’re supposed to be.  So were mine.

The way to win in network marketing is to practice.  Get better.  And still be here after the tourists and poseurs give up and quit.

  1. AMEN BROTHER!!! …. OMG.. i wish there was a way to download that into people’s brains… (pardon the similarity in syntax to another Randy)

as usual you are SSSSOOOOOO RRRIIIIIIIIGGGGHHHHHTTTTT!!!!

people tend to think because they signed up, have a mouth, and some products, and a flip chart they will be rich by next month…. no practice, no drilling, no rehearsing… and NO THIRD PARTY INVOLVEMENT ARGH!!!! :o(

everyone watches prof sports in one sport or another, from tennis to X-Games, and they admire their idols, and they are impressed with their resolve, their skills, their talents… BBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT they seem to forget all the practice, drilling and rehearsing, all the trials, errors and harddships that came before the championship….

anything worth doing is worth doing badly at first. (usually i know the authors of the quotes but for some reason this one is escaping me??? and the net is no help… argh)

people tend to only have listen to the phrase, “for things to get better we must get better, for things to improve we must improve.” it goes in one ear and out the other.

they tend to forget what “GET BETTER AND IMPROVE” means….

when the MJ’s of the world are not on the courts and the stages and in front of the spot lights, they are PRACTICING, REHEARSING, DRILLING, IMPROVING! we all should follow in that example…

luv ya… peace out … gotta go practice now… hehehe

  2. How true. I am a certified presenter with the company I am in. I learn every time I am up there. (Thanks for the previous conference calls on presenting. I learned and “applied” what you had said. I am still getting used to getting up on stage and “waiting” the 3 seconds before speaking….Still not sure there).
I hear people commenting on the newer “presenters” and say to them it isn’t as easy as you think it is. Saying what you need to say with the enthusiasm and putting in your personal touches are a challenge and “practice, practice makes you grow!”
Thank you for this great site! It gives me motivation and skills to get better!
