The Internet Mashup & MLM
So I’m actually in San Francisco at the Web 2.0 Expo, masterminding about where the future of the Internet is going. The best minds in the space from all over the world are here this week.

Mega-MLM Update 2
Wow I checked the list and actually there are about 35 different companies represented here. Things are really going great. Last night we finished the sessions on the group dynamics of exponential growth. We’ve done 4 or 5 “Hot Seats” looking at people’s systems and marketing materials. We’re moving into Social Media Marketing after lunch, then the rest of the day and night will be devoted to leadership development. We’ll wrap up tomorrow with some sessions on managing money to create wealth, building belief, and “Jedi Knight” MLM. It’s been an extraordinary event, and people are playing full out.

Today is a day I’ve waited months for. In a few moments I’ll go downstairs and begin the Mega-MLM event!

Simple and Elegant…
I got an email last night after the Tele-Seminar from Dr. Tim Berry, who is one of my Diamond Directors. We were discussing what we tell the prospect during a presentation. He raised the important issue that is sitting at the top of a prospect’s brain:

Last reminder
Just a final reminder, that the Tele-Seminar on presenting is tonight. There are a few spots left, but you must register for them.
Securing Lines
Back in the day, when old school guys like me started in the business, it was a simple equation to figure out how to secure lines and build depth. We were all working stair-step breakaway programs, and it was a simple process. Now with all of the Binary, Matrix, and hybrid plans out there, things are a little less clear. But at the end of the day, it’s still about duplication and developing leaders. Continue reading “Securing Lines”
Leading with Products vs. the Biz
When you first meet with people, the way to produce the strongest results is to lead with the business opportunity. If they are not interested in the business aspect, then you fall back on the outcome of getting them as a customer. That will produce better duplication than if you lead with your product or service first, then try to back into the business. Here’s why:

Power Presenting
I’ve scheduled the next generic Tele-Seminar and the topic is one that’s very important in our profession: presenting. Or more specifically, creating “killer” presentations. The program is free, but you must pre-register to ensure a line. You can do that by clicking here.

Make it About the Prospect…
Marketing materials, in order to be effective, must be about the prospect. The same holds true for your presentations. This means they are benefit-driven, not feature-driven.

Evaluating Compensation Plans
As you evaluate a compensation plan, I believe there are certain things you should look for. These include: Continue reading “Evaluating Compensation Plans”
The Big Biz vs. the Small Biz
When I wrote The MLM Revolution, my manifesto on the profession, I exposed the biggest lie in this business to be selling big business results by promoting small business tactics. This is a pandemic in the business and it stems from our failure to educate people the difference between the small business retailer model and the big business duplication model. And most of the guilty parties aren’t even aware they’re misleading prospects, because they don’t know the difference.

What It Takes to Win at MLM
Virtually every MLM company has its “rags to riches” stories of everyday people who went from poor or modest beginnings to earning more money in a month than most people bring down in a year. These range from a couple living in their in-law’s garage, to a bankrupt minister in Texas, and a young man in Taiwan who rode his bicycle to opportunity meetings. These people, and thousands more have their own unique stories to tell.

Following Your Money
I ran into an umpire last week who I hadn’t seen for a while. Last season he begged me every week to get a ticket to my prosperity weekend. Every time he talked about how little he made, and how committed he was to breaking out of it. So I finally relented and gave him tickets for him and his girlfriend.

Don’t Have Time Objections
Another objection people mentioned getting a lot is that their prospects say they don’t have enough time to do the business. I actually heard this about an hour ago when I was helping one of my leaders on a 3-way call.
